Friday Night Fun at Level X Glasgow: From Dinner to Games

Hey everyone!
Who else loves the idea of going out on a Friday night and then having the whole weekend to chill and recover?
That’s my perfect plan because it feels like you’re squeezing the most out of the weekend. This time, our Friday escapade took us to Mikaku for some Japanese vibes and then over to Level X for the rest of the night.
Dinner at Mikaku
So, Mikaku’s got this cool street food vibe like you’re actually in Japan. Since traveling there isn’t on my cards right now, I figure, why not bring Japan to Glasgow, right? The place nailed the ambiance, making us feel like we’d stepped into another world. We kicked things off with some chicken Karaage and gyoza, and a beef fillet ginger that was all sorts of tasty.
For the main event, we both chose the Ebi Menchi Katsu—those minced prawns in a crispy shell? Yes, please! It was delicious but kinda dry; a sauce on the side would’ve been perfect. With drinks, we each dropped about £32, which was totally worth it for the quality and setting.
Nighttime at Level X
Post-dinner, it was only about 9:30 PM, and going home just wasn’t on the agenda. So, we headed straight to Level X across the road. We snagged these limitless cards for £10 each, which got us into all the arcade games we could handle.
The DJ was killing it! Mixing R&B with dance pop, and even dropping some Afrobeats, including Burna Boy’s “Last Last”—that was the vibe! We hit up the arcade, raced each other, and dove into some VR games. It felt like no time had passed at all because we were having too much fun.
Wrapping Up
Honestly, the whole night was a blast. Level X isn’t just a spot for arcade lovers—it’s a place where you can chill, have fun, and make memories. I’m definitely planning to bring more of the crew next time.
So, if you’re in Glasgow and looking for a night that’s a bit out of the ordinary, hit up Mikaku and Level X. You’re in for good food and a ton of fun. And who knows, maybe I’ll bump into some of you there next time!
